STROBE takes its cue from the perceptual effects of strobe lighting: hypnotic repetition, slowed motion, and lingering afterimages. Written for amplified ensemble and sample pad triggering recorded fragments of the live instruments, the music unfolds in four continuous sections, flickering between propulsion and suspension.
